Airdrop Scam

On February 21, 2025, I became the victim of a cryptocurrency scam resulting in the loss of 1,000 USDC on the Ethereum blockchain. The scammer contacted me offering a specialized service in exchange for payment. After negotiating terms, I transferred 1,000 USDC from my wallet (0xA9D1e08C7793af67e9d92fe308d5697FB81d3E43, labeled as Coinbase 10) to the scammer’s wallet: 0x47bA20fEa9Da2E8FEA2875312124599b8f9223EB. The transaction hash is: 0xabd6067e6a04dfa5a09fa445e55b26b50ed43519a4c3066280068a71abe49f97. After receiving the payment, the scammer began giving vague excuses and failed to deliver the agreed-upon services. Over the next several weeks, they avoided accountability, stalled with empty promises, and ultimately ceased communication without delivering any results or issuing a refund. A few hours after the initial transfer, the scammer moved the full 1,000 USDC to a second wallet: 0x87e7D106FE75fcD26d9aC311EF29ac1398DD4441. That transaction is recorded under hash: 0x5462bab5dc5eb06aab87f4bb6e1a0f83286d67a83cd49ff368430bfc44f83195. As of March 23, 2025, both wallets appear to have offloaded or moved the funds elsewhere. No attempt was made by the scammer to fulfill their agreement or offer a resolution. This was a calculated act of fraud. I am submitting this report so that Chainabuse and its partners can flag both wallet addresses and investigate any connections to other reported scams. The behavior shows clear signs of intent to deceive, mislead, and steal. Addresses involved: Victim wallet: 0xA9D1e08C7793af67e9d92fe308d5697FB81d3E43 Scammer initial wallet: 0x47bA20fEa9Da2E8FEA2875312124599b8f9223EB Secondary wallet (funds moved to): 0x87e7D106FE75fcD26d9aC311EF29ac1398DD4441 I have also reported the incident to Circle (USDC issuer), IC3.gov (Internet Crime Complaint Center), and posted warnings on Reddit and X to alert others. Please take the appropriate action to flag these wallets and prevent further financial harm to the crypto community.
